One person's belief

I am a professional singer because Mrs Taylor, my primary school teacher, believed in me. I was shy and quiet and at home I sang at the end of the garden so my parents didn't really get to hear me (until my teens when they probably heard me too well). At school we had a great choir, run by Mrs Taylor and she picked me to sing 'the underneath part' (alto harmony) which I thought was a great honour. She invited me to join Berkshire Junior Choir where she was conductor and even once I had left primary school and I was too old for Junior Choir, she called me saying I should go on an Opera Course and that she had spoken to the conductor. I did, and after that I continued in Berkshire Youth Choir, then Choir of the Year and the rest they say, is history!
Obviously there was a lot of hard work and auditioning between then and now, but what Mrs Taylor gave me was a belief in myself that I was good and I could do it, and I will never forget that.

It inspired me to become a singer, but also a singing teacher. I teach singing lessons in Hungerford in Berkshire, so please get in touch if you're interested in singing lessons. I am now offering face-to face singing lessons in Hungerford (but can still offer online too!)
